Walk-In Pantry

Our client was a busy executive who loved hosting large indoor and outdoor gatherings. As a result, she shopped in bulk. These practices and her demanding schedule often made “dropping and running” necessary. Add two growing teenagers to the mix and the overflowing pantry became the most frustrating space in her beautiful home.
With a lighter budget for storage solutions, we disposed of expired food and drink, culled excess, created categories and considered the eating and drinking habits of everyone in the home. One of the keys to success in this space was acknowledging and appreciating that habits were unlikely to change drastically, given the limits on the client's free time. So, we formalized “drop zones” for things like drinks, containing them in galvanized metal bins. Another win? Installing a drawer unit to house disposable cutlery meant no longer excavating to find a fork.
